What is GFRC

Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete

  • Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) is one of the most innovative construction materials. GFRC proven the performance since alkali-resistant glass fibers were developed in 1969.
  • Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete ( GFRC ) is a cementitious, composite material, cast in thin shells typically ¾”  for use in construction.
  • GFRC consist of Portland cement, aggregate, water, alkali-resistant glass fibers, polymer and other additives.
  • The fibers that are randomly dispersed through out the product serve a purpose similar to the reinforcing steel in reinforced concrete., resulting strong material yet lightweight GFRC architectural elements.
  • Connection hardware is usually embedded in the GFRC parts such as straps or steel frames. The design is custom engineered depending on the requirements of the GFRC project and the GFRC part.
